Counting Your Blessings: An Abundant Mindset
When day breaks and the sun's rays hit the Earth, there is illumination as far as the eye can see. Light everywhere, in abundance. From deep beneath the surface of Earth, decorated by an immense presence of resources and minerals, to far far away up in the sky, filled with a million twinkling stars. The universe displays a natural essence of abundance, the quality of possessing in great numbers. Gallons of water fill our rivers, lakes and oceans. Land expands for multitudes of kilometers, with only a small proportion occupied by human civilization. All these attributes of the natural world are exhibition of how we're surrounded by an abundant world. Now if nature abides by this principle, what are the chances that we're exempt from experiencing such abundance in our daily lives?
The days of our lives bring with them an affluence of experiences that enrich our individual journeys. As the days go by we encounter an abundance of achievements and challenges, diverse emotions and a remarkable capacity to learn and be creative. We make meaningful connections of shared love and support. Our lives are inherently abundant through the richness of these experiences. The recognition of this abundance has a profound impact on gratitude as it shifts our focus towards the appreciation of what is present rather than dwelling on what may be lacking. There is a sense of contentment that comes with acknowledging abundance in even the simplest of life's pleasures.
If you look at what you already have, you'll have always have more. If you look at what you don't have, you'll never have enough. Having a mindset of abundance shapes a perspective of fulfillment. The fixation over what is lacking without appreciating your blessings can create a cycle of dissatisfaction, where even achievements or possessions may not bring lasting fulfilment. In essence, recognizing abundance acts as a catalyst for gratitude, encouraging us to find joy and appreciation in the richness of our lives, both big and small. It forms a positive loop where gratitude reinforces the recognition of abundance, creating a cycle that contributes to overall well-being and contentment
